Restorative Justice Volunteer
Le Chéile in Limerick has opportunities for volunteers to play an active role in their community and help in crime reduction. We are looking for male and female volunteers aged 20 and over to work with young people aged 12-18. The young people that are referred to the project are to some level involved in the Irish Youth Justice System.
As a volunteer your role will be to support young people throughout the Restorative Justice process. Volunteers go with the young person as they complete the piece of work that they have agreed to do to make amends. The volunteer both supports the young person and confirms that the work is completed as agreed.
Volunteers work one-to-one with the young person over a short, fixed period of time. As a volunteer, you will help them identify and develop their own skills, as well as taking responsibility for their actions.
Volunteers receive full training before partaking in the project and are Garda Vetted. Volunteers receive regular support and supervision as well as regular ongoing training.
