In accordance with the Guidelines for Charitable Organisations on Fundraising from the Public, issued by the Charities Regulator, Le Chéile Mentoring has a Donor Charter outlining how we operate under the principles of Respect; Honesty & Integrity; and Transparency & Accountability
Respect:
- All public engagement will respect the rights and dignity of our funders, donors, staff, service users and the general public.
- Service users will be presented in an honest and respectful way and, where possible and appropriate, service users will have an input into the promotional strategies of the charity.
- We offer other ways in which the public can support our work, for example volunteering your time
- Fundraising activities will not be unreasonably persistent, intrusive or place undue pressure on a person/organisation to donate. Declining to donate, or wishing to cease making a donation will be respected.
Honesty and Integrity:
- Public engagement is conducted in an honest and truthful manner
- Our volunteers and staff act with honesty and integrity and our public engagement activities honestly represent Le Chéile.
- Questions about fundraising activities and costs will be answered honestly and in a timely manner.
- Information about Le Chéile’s charitable purpose and activities will be made freely available.
- Charitable donations and gifts will be used for the purposes for which they were donated.
Transparency and Accountability:
- Le Chéile takes responsibility for its actions and will be capable of explaining, clarifying and justifying those actions.
- Le Chéile’s trustees and management explain and account to donors and the public for its actions.
- Le Chéile operates in an open, frank and honest way and will ensure that transactions, operations information and communications are easily understood by donors and the public alike.
- Le Chéile clearly identifies to donors and the public the cause for which the fundraising is occurring and how donations will and are being used.
- Le Chéile provides ways whereby those interested can easily contact us.
