Mentor Coordinator North Dublin

Le Chéile Mentoring is a national, volunteer mentoring and family support service. We work with young people and their families, where the young person is involved or at risk of offending. 

Le Chéile is recruiting a full-time Mentor Coordinator to fulfil a fixed term contract of one year with a possibility to extend subject to funding.  The post covers our North Dublin region and is in partnership with Archways to offer intensive family support and community-based mentoring to young people and families as part of a multi-disciplinary team based in North Dublin. The programme aims to strengthen families, remove barriers to prosocial opportunities and increase community efficacy.  

Please note Le Chéile has a hybrid/blended working policy (which incorporates home and office working). 

The Role: The Mentor Coordinator’s role is to coordinate a mentoring service for young people and their families, who have been referred to the project. The Mentor Coordinator recruits and trains suitable volunteer mentors and matches them with young people and sometimes family members and provides ongoing support to the mentor/mentee relationship through training, resources, and supervision. The role also includes some direct work with young people and families.  

Profile: We are seeking an experienced, dynamic person with a track record of achievement in youth justice and or youth/ community work. 

Essential requirements: 

  • Recognised qualification in one of the following Youth and Community Work, Social Work, Psychology, Social Science or other related area. 
  • 3 years full-time paid experience of working with young people/ families 
  • Case Management and Interagency Experience 
  • Project Management Experience 
  • Record keeping and report writing experience 
  • Clean Driving License and own car 
  • Candidates will be subject to Garda Vetting and must be of good character 

 Location: North Dublin 

 Salary Range:  €43,000 to a maximum of €55,000 per annum (Commensurate with experience)
